Brooke | Class of 2012

I had so much fun hanging out with Brooke for her Senior pictures!  She is a natural in front of the camera!

I don’t photograph a ton of seniors, but I swear I photograph the prettiest!

Be sure to check out her slide show for lots more and a look at her awesome car! Click HERE!!

Luke & Nick | Scottsdale child photographer

I like this family…

a whole bunch…

these two boys are the same ages as my younger two and they are good buddies.

Their mom is the amazing talent behind monkey c baby.

If you have not visited her etsy shop take a minute and go take a peek…

I’ll wait…

just don’t forget to come back and look at there adorable pictures!!

They recently moved into a new home and the boys have an aviation theme in their bedroom!

I loved all these amazing planes!

Their dad is an air traffic controller so it must be in the DNA;)

I don’t know what it is about this picture, but it makes me want to watch Top Gun!  Not that I need much of an excuse…

a look back… | newborns of 2011

2011 was a year of growth…

a year of mistakes…

a year of learning and defining and refining…

I am so grateful to all the mommas to be, newborns and babies that visited me over the last 12 months.

Thank you for trusting me to capture your memories.

I pulled a few favorites from the past year, but hope you will take a minute and watch the newborn slideshow that features all the newborns from last year!  So many wonderful babies that are growing oh so fast!

Here’s to 2012 and a whole new set of faces and hopefully some familiar ones as well;)

Snow Family 2011!!

I’m embarrassed to admit this … but this is our first family picture in 4 years!!

And this one wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t had my parents in town to help me out.

I don’t love … scratch that … I hate being in front of the camera

I am forever too critical…

but I am so glad we have this picture of our entire family while my kids are still kids.

I’ve been feeling like my oldest is just getting too old too fast, but that’s a whole other topic about loose teeth, school crushes and wanting a cell phone!

Plus I’m so glad we were able to include our furry child, Mable.  We also have a cat, but there was a discussion about strange family cat pictures so Otis didn’t make the cut.  Nobody thinks it’s weird to include your dog in pictures, but I would question anyone who wanted to bring along their feline friend for a family portrait!

Ahh…my handsome boys!

…and were done…

I also thought I would include a little of the Snow family holiday cheer from our home.  This is the first year we got an actual full size tree.  We have always had a toddler in the house threatening to pull it over so we have had what my husband calls the Christmas bush for several years.  This year it got a new home on our front porch and I quite like it there.  One thing about having a full size tree is you realize how little ornaments you have.  You will find me at Target the day after Christmas this year!  We need to fill this baby up!  But my favorite holiday decor is hanging all your beautiful Christmas cards on the back of our front door.  It is my absolute favorite thing to walk past and see all the faces of our family and friends.

… and our Christmas card…

I hope that you all have the merriest of holiday with your families and loved ones!

Kristen & Jason | Scottsdale Maternity Photographer

So the holiday season can be crazy for all of us, but for portrait photographers it is commonly called the “busy season” and without a game plan and a pretty strong backbone it is easy to have things get out of control.  I learned that lesson last year.  I had such a hard time telling clients “no” that I spent a lot of time telling my family no.  I worked so much and so close to Christmas that Santa left me a message saying if I didn’t get my but into bed he would skip our house!

I ended the year exhausted and uninspired.  The thing that I love to do is capturing babies with my camera.  Preserving those early memories for they last such a short time, but I had become more like a robot than a thinking, feeling, loving photographer.  Shoot, download, edit, order, package, deliver.  Repeat.  Repeat.  Repeat.

So this year I made a plan…

This was my last session for 2011.  And what a wonderful one to end on.  I loved meeting Kristen and Jason and feeling of their excitement about welcoming their first baby girl next year.

It also helps that Kristen is gorgeous and she and Jason make the cutest couple!

So at the end of this “busy season” I am left excited to meet this new baby girl, inspired to have an even better 2012 and just plain happy!

See more of this gorgeous couple in there slideshow HERE.
