I’m so happy that I am able to share this session with you heading into Mother’s day weekend.

One of the things I love about photographing newborns is that I get the opportunity to meet so many new 1st time moms.

As I celebrate my 7th Mother’s Day as a mother myself I always reflect back on the birth of my firstborn…

the one who made me a mother…

There is just something magical those first few weeks when you and your baby are on the same level…

Neither of you have a clue as to what is going on!

This soon to be 1st time mom has been waiting for this moment for a long time.

Many tears have been shed waiting and anticipating…

I’m so glad I was able to document this fleeting time in her life that will bring her the little girl that will make her a mother.

I had the opportunity to step outside of my baby and children box for a couple days and work with a wonderful Dental Office and their patients.

Life Smiles Dental Care has a great dentist, kind and knowledgeable hygienists and fun staff.

and look how pretty their patients are!!  I have never felt more self conscious of my own teeth and smile than around all these pearly whites

Somehow I haven’t posted anything for 2 weeks?!

Not sure why…I have plenty to share

I think I am just going through a little funk.

Maybe it is dealing with the imminent loss of our dog…

Maybe I’m just trunky with the end of the school year around the corner.

Whatever the reason I have not been keeping up, but I had to share sweet baby CJ and his gorgeous blue eyes!

It’s no secret that I love a gallery wrapped canvas!

Especially when they are done right!  Tightly wrapped corners, beautiful vibrant colors, the highest quality canvas.

It’s an instant work of art.

I love that it can go right from my clients hands and onto the wall.

No looking for the perfect frame or waiting for a custom framing job.

Easy, peasy!

This is the second canvas collage I have done for Stephen’s family

I was so mad I didn’t get a picture of the first one…

I was just too excited to deliver it.

So this time I had my 4 1/2 year old pose with it.

It’s just about as big as him!

Who else wants an awesome piece of art for there home?

At the end of a newborn session I often find myself advising parents on when the next milestone to capture is.

The conversation goes something like this…

The next best time to do a portrait session is once your baby turns 6 months.

Such a wonderful time in your babies first year, I say.

They fit into clothes at this point.

They are smiling and sitting up, but not yet crawling.

Such a great time to capture their growing personalities before they can run away from me

Yep, that’s what I say…

Unfortunately, Grace had a totally different timeline in mind.

Who would have thought that this sweet newborn would be sitting up at 4 months!

and by six months was crawling as fast as can be and pulling up on everything to stand!

But she is so cute…really she can do whatever she likes!!  I’m always up for the chase!

Sweet little Keshlyn has some of the longest eyelashes I’ve seen on a newborn!

But with parents that can rock a maternity session the way they did…

it’s no question she would be a beautiful baby!

…and a little Easter cuteness!!

I still can’t believe that little Savine went from this…

to this in 3 short months!

So glad her pretty momma wanted to have some mother daughter time in front of the camera.

It’s a rare thing as a mom to be IN pictures with our kids…

so glad to have been able to capture this mom with her precious little girl.
